This has been my daughters first year at school. She has learnt so much and has thoroughly enjoyed learning. My son is in grade 2 and when asked what he did today at school. A common answer is ” We played games”. When I delve further I find out he has been learning a core piece of the curriculum but in a fun way. My kids teachers have been wonderful again this year and as Christmas approaches we will be letting our teachers know they are appreciated. I tasted these Almond Fingers at a morning tea a friend held a couple of years ago. She generously wrote out the recipe and I made them a few times and received rave reviews. But in recent years I’d somehow lost the recipe. As I was searching out gift ideas I came upon the recipe again. This time I will be cooking them as a thank you gift for my children’s teachers.
Peppermint and chocolate go so well together. Some of my favourites are Peppermint Crisps, Aero Peppermint block chocolate and Peppermint Magnum ice creams. And of course these Peppermint Star biscuits. They are a perfect gift of appreciation for anyone, especially the teacher in your child’s life.
