We had let ourselves get into a bit of a rut when it came to snack time. When my son wanted a snack, he would end up choosing exactly the same thing day in, day out – a tub of yoghurt or a cheese stick. While there is nothing wrong with those two choices, there was so much else he could be trying. I decided to set up a snack station so that he would have lots of variety and healthy options. I also wanted to give him some independence with his food choices so that I didn’t have to prepare something for him every time he wanted a bite to eat. The side benefit of setting up our snack stations has been that the whole family’s snack choices (adults included) have become more healthy and now, instead of staring into the fridge or pantry, complaining that there is nothing to eat, there are a whole lot of delicious and healthy choices right there in front of us.  Easy!
