When I have friends over to dinner I always try to bake hot dinner rolls. I find that by accompanying a simply meal with dinner rolls it turns a normal meal into something just a little bit special. The kids also love helping out making the bread.
Making bread it quite time consuming, but you can always do other things while the dough is rising.

I bought some pistachios to snack on recently, and mid way through the packet I got to thinking about other ways I could use them. As a kid, pistachios always looked remarkably ugly and unappetising. Yes – that is right, the Fete is complete, finished, all over and I am still standing!
My eldest child started Prep this year, and I started my Primary School Parent life by joining the Fete Committee. I did start to worry when the Fete Committee President kept referring to me as the “brave prep parent”, but I soon realised that this was not a job entered into lightly! I’ve had this recipe for Onion, Olive & Parmesan Cheese Pull Apart for about 5 years now. It’s been sitting in my loose leaflet recipe book in my cupboard for all that time.
