I have a couple of Dads in my life, my Dad and my hubby. I’m planning to cook up a storm for the day to show them how much the kids and I appreciate them and to celebrate Dads and all they do.

Since I discovered that gluten doesn’t agree with me, I have had to make some major adjustments to my diet.
Showing your gourmet skills in the kitchen is extremely difficult when you have none. I’m always looking for some little tricks that make dishes look, taste, smell or just sound a little better or little more intricate. One way of achieving this is using some of the easiest gourmet ingredients you can get your hands on (I’m looking at you, prosciutto). I’ve found such an ingredient in chorizo, and it is remarkably versatile. 
So it’s the first week of advent and surely its time to get stuck into the serious business of Christmas baking. Reading through numerous festive recipes that are in every way temptous, the most appealing to me was the baked hams on offer. 
Exactly 200 years ago on the 15th & 16th of September the people of Mexico rose up against the Spanish initiating the War of Independence. It is celebrated in town squares across Mexico and commemorated by Mexicans all over the world.
