With Christmas rapidly approaching I start thinking about cheap and easy ways to help bring the joy of the season into our home. I LOVE Christmas. I love the spirit, the joy, the excitement. And I love thinking of ways to help build the excitement in our children. I find craft is awesome for this. I get beautiful, festive artworks to display and they get the joy of showing off their creations to all who visit. They also make great gifts for grandparents!

How many times have you heard this December “She/He is so hard to buy for”? We all know someone (or many someones) that falls into this category. They seem to have everything already, no obvious interests or hobbies, or have taste that exceeds your budget multiple times. It’s not an easy task, that’s for sure. 
I love Christmas and this year is no different. With the dismal Melbourne being what it is, I defied all rules and put up my Christmas tree before the 1st December. Since then I have been told that its bad luck and I could be struck down by a bolt of random lightning. But really, I figure if the shopping centres can do it, why can’t I? 
I love the idea of giving someone a gift basket or a hamper filled with lots of delicious goodies, but I often find there are one or two things you find in a pre-made hamper that just don’t cut the mustard. Sometimes it’s the mustard.
So it’s the first week of advent and surely its time to get stuck into the serious business of Christmas baking. Reading through numerous festive recipes that are in every way temptous, the most appealing to me was the baked hams on offer.
