Halloween is just around the corner so that means that if you are having a halloween party that you are probably in need of some spooky food to serve. There are so many cute yet scary foods that can be made that will definately set your party apart from a normal “chips and dip” affair.

Carving pumpkins is not something we know a lot about in Australia but more and more people are getting into the Halloween festive spirit these days. In America it is one of the best days of the year as adults and children alike dress up in costumes and eat a diet of cavities. I love the taste of cavities!
Does anyone remember those amazing Women’s Weekly birthday cake books; you know, the ones that had the rocket ship cake and the clown cake and the princess castle cake? I spend hours on the floor as a child, poring over them and carefully choosing my favourite. Little did I know that one day in the future I would be making my OWN novelty shaped cake for Halloween. And before you ask: yes, it was the best fun ever. 
Halloween was not a big deal when I was growing up. I’ve never been trick or treating, and the only memories I have specific to Halloween was watching “Treehouse of Horror” episodes of “The Simpsons” around that time. But when I got to university – all of a sudden it was a big deal. Costumes were decided upon weeks in advance, elaborate parties were held and all manner of festive food decorated to the theme was on hand.
