Fast Food At Home: Japanese Yakitori Chicken

There is nothing better on a hot summers day than a scoop or two of your favourite ice cream. Have you ever tried to make it yourself? It is very simple and allows you to concoct any combination of flavours that tickle your fancy.

‘Av some Avocado Dip

Do you love Avocados? We are proud to say that this year at Coles our avocados are helping to support Make-A-Wish® Australia. The funds raised will go towards granting the wishes of children and young people with life-threatening medical conditions.

As a child my mum would make avocado dip for me and I remember eating it in my lunch box at school.  Avocados are very healthy too. Did you know that avocados contain the most protein of any fruit, and more potassium than bananas? Avocados are high in monounsaturated fat which is the good kind of fat and is great for babies to eat. Merry Fruit Mince Pies – Simple and tasty as can be.

Mince pies are one of my favourite seasonal indulgences. My mum would always bake a giant container of them each year to wrap and give to people who would visit. Those mince pies would silently call me to sneak into the kitchen and eat one…. or two… sometimes three. Mum would end up finding out that I had eaten them when there were crumbs on the couch and the lid not put back on the container properly. Occasionally I would be caught red handed with my hand under the lid and given a lecture about how they weren’t for me and that I had better eat my dinner. Read more…
