Since having kids I’ve noticed that grandparents favourite presents are ones the grandchildren have made for them. With Mother’s Day looming it was time to crack out the art and craft supplies to put the kids to work!
Our present this year is a decorated can and a cute fingerpainted card. My children have taken a liking to Cadbury hot chocolate on the cold mornings Melbourne is experiencing lately so we used the empty cans we have from that. The cans have no sharp edges and a resealable lid, they’ll be perfect for filling with homemade treats (Search “5110050″ at Coles online for Cadbury hot chocolate). You can use any can you have handy, just check for sharp edges and cover any with some thick tape (eg. electrical or ducted). Read more…

Easter is magical time. My kids are counting the days until school holidays start and the days until Easter. They can’t wait for Easter bunny to come and visit. Santa has a big night ahead of him this Christmas. He has to visit girls and boys all over the world in just one day delivering them toys and happiness. Santa and his reindeer need some energy in between visiting the boys and girls so it is nice to leave some snacks for his journey.

This has been my daughters first year at school. She has learnt so much and has thoroughly enjoyed learning. My son is in grade 2 and when asked what he did today at school. A common answer is ” We played games”. When I delve further I find out he has been learning a core piece of the curriculum but in a fun way. My kids teachers have been wonderful again this year and as Christmas approaches we will be letting our teachers know they are appreciated. We’ve come up with 6 terrific gift ideas that teachers are sure to enjoy.
