My daughter turned 6 recently and all she wanted was to celebrate her birthday with her friends and her furry teddy bear friends.  A Teddy Bears picnic party was the perfect theme.

The Ultimate Peri Peri Chicken Burger with Tzatziki and Kumara Chips

With Australia day coming up I got to thinking about food I could make for my mates. Since i’m originally from New Zealand, I thought I’d put a bit of a Kiwi spin on things and make Kumara chips to pair with a good old spicy Aussie burger.

The Coles Grilled Range is great for barbeques with an awesome variety of cuts and flavours. My personal favourite is an oldie but a goodie that can be easily adapted for either a great dinner or a smash hit on the BBQ, Coles Grill Peri Peri Chicken Steaks.

Whilst a lot of people may be put off by peri peri thinking it’s too hot, this range has a bit of spice but no real kick meaning that it’s sure to be a hit even with those who can’t handle a bit of spice!

How to spice up your pre-made lunches

Ever since I can remember I have been making my lunch at night for the following day. When I turned 12 I started making my own school lunches with my older sister. If we were left to our own devices we probably would have packed lollies, chips and donuts every day, but much to our disappointment Mum had carefully pre-selected some healthy options for us to use. This was definitely a good thing in hindsight, because now as an adult I try to make myself a healthy lunch each night for work the next day. Read more…

Easy peasy kids dress ups – Guest post

Are you filled with dread when your child comes home with endless, well it seems endless, school requests and parties that require them to dress up?

I think dress ups are great especially at home or kinder when kids can just help themselves to the dress up box. Mine consists of mainly clothing bought at op shops, some faux pas fashion items I have bought on a whim, scraps of left over material bought for a dollar and old accessories. Read more…
